MCE TSP Training in India June 2019

Madrasah Centre of Excellence (MCE)

Madrasah Centre of Excellence (MCE) is a global education structure that delivers and maintains strategies for Madrasah Programme. It hosts a wide range of training sessions specifically for teachers throughout the year, internationally. The Teacher Skills Programme (TSP) provides teachers with practical skills, tools and resources needed to bridge the gap between schools and madaris, enabling a more structured style of teaching in the madrasahs – emphasising the learning process centred around each individual child.  The overall aim of the programme is to increase the skills of madrasah teachers, shifting their attitudes and behaviours so they are better able to support the learning of the students in the madrasah.

We recently had different sessions of TSP held in June 2019 on different dates and locations in India in partnership with India Federation, each being facilitated by experienced members.

From these sessions, teachers were taught how to experiment with new methods of teaching to encourage the students to think creatively and outside the box. Another driving concept in these sessions was for teachers to demonstrate a two-way communication between themselves and the students. Another aspect of the training was also centred on key planning skills and discussing how preplanning and having resources ready beforehand help the lessons run smoothly.

The above dates are the 3rd and 4th TSP held in India and we now have a total of 100 trained teachers in Mumbai and Gujrat combined.

Once the teachers had taken part in the TSP, they were put to the test by engaging in Micro Teaching Sessions (MT). By practising on other teachers, they were given the opportunity to mark their own progress as well as gain feedback on their methods. There were 4 sessions held in june which can be seen below.

We received a lot of positive feedback from both the TSP -

“Modules were meticulously designed with Sayyid’s ability to extract & implement the training outcomes. More than the modules it was Sayyid’s presentation & deep understanding which was outstanding and mind-blowing”

“It has opened horizons that might have been there from before but never surfaced”

“This workshop has changed my mindset which I was having towards students. It was extremely helpful”

And the MT –

“Micro Teach motivated me to come out of my comfort zone and helped me improve my lesson planning”

“Group discussion sessions improves our teaching. Feedback can lead towards growth. I have started using V-A-K in my daily life”

“Lots of food for thought. Lots to ponder upon. Felt there is so much to learn”
