Students for Students Appeal

Where in the West a student considers it the norm to have a fully equipped laboratories for science periods and computers available for ICT lessons, it is not a given in all the schools in the developing countries of the World.

The World Federation in conjunction with The Council of European Jamaats has launched the ‘Students for Students’ appeal for European students to help raise funds for the laboratory equipment for the students at the Al-Khadija Girls Degree College in Pakistan.

Mari Indus is 50 km away from the main town of Mianwali, Pakistan. The girls who live in this secluded mountainous town did not have any means of continuing with their higher education. Thus, in 2008 the IK Trust established the Al-Khadija Girls Degree College by renting a building to cater for 250 students. For long term sustainability, it was cost effective to own their own premises and hence in 2010, IK Trust commenced the initial construction of 12 rooms to cater for the students. With no lab equipment available, the young girls are unable to continue with their education. The IK Trust, with whom The World Federation works with for various project initiatives in Pakistan, requested financial assistance to provide an academic environment for the girls in the Mari Indus district to study.

We humbly request you to encourage your children to get involved in this appeal and aide us in fundraising for these Pakistani Girls College. This will however not be possible without parents and guardians support and assistance.

The target for this project to fully equip the school is a total of £13,000.

This appeal has also been launched with many Madressas across Europe. To encourage sponsors, sponsored children will be reciting one of the following of their choice being a Tasbeeh, Surah Fateha or a Surah Yasin for their sponsor’s Marhumeen. You may download the sponsorship form provided so that your children can do the same to support this noble cause.

Your children’s hard work and your contributions, no matter how small, will go a long way. You have the power to build someone’s future. Together we can educate a student, one recitation at a time.
