We live in an age of paradox. There is no shortage of information and misinformation available on the Internet. Sometimes, even within the “safe spaces” which we go to for enlightenment, we become confused with “new” religious theories.
Today more than ever, we see the actualisation of the hadith:
عن أنس عن النبي (ص) أنه قال: «يأتي على الناس زمان الصابر منهم على دينه كالقابض على الجمرة
It has been narrated from Anas from the Prophet, prayers of Allah be upon him and his family, that he said, “A time will come upon humanity that remaining on their religion will be like holding hot coals in their hands.”
(Mustadrak al-Wasaail, vol. 12, pg. 33, tradition 1.)
Introducing STEPS – Shi‘i Theology, Ethics and Practice Series. The Islamic Education department of The World Federation aims to intellectually empower the community by providing easy-to-understand and comprehensive answers to pertinent issues. Watch the trailer video about this new initiative.

The World Federation in Partnership with The Council of European Jamaats have organised a Pre-Engagement Workshop for single males and females aged 18 and over on spouse selection.
The workshop will be facilitated by Brother Abbas Merali, co-author of Selecting a Spouse. The deadline for registration has been extended to Tuesday 7 January 2014.

This is the 11th issue of the MCE mailshot. When we sent the first issue, we explained that the purpose of the newsletter was to:
1. Update you on the progress made by MCE and its activities
2. Share good practices that are happening in other madrasah around the world
3. Share news of important developments in the field of madrasah education
4. Listen to you and take your feedback, suggestions and new ideas.
The World Federation were invited to hold a stall at the Nahjul Balagha conference that took place on Sunday 29th September 2013 in Peterborough, UK.
