Zainabiya Child Sponsorship Scheme – Changing Children’s Lives Since 1981

Education is the prerogative of every child. It gives the less fortunate an equal opportunity as their privileged counterparts to realise their dreams.  It is the most powerful weapon a child can have to change their circumstances.  With Zainabiya Child Sponsorship Scheme, that is exactly what we aim to achieve. Give children an opportunity to turn their lives around.

The Zainabiya Child Sponsorship Scheme (ZCSS) was launched in June 1981 by Marhum Mulla Asghar under the umbrella of The World Federation of KSIMC. It was named as such to honour the memory of Bibi Zainab AS and the children under her guardianship who made the devastating journey from Karbala to Sham. Alhamdulillah, the scheme has been running for 35 years. From humble beginnings but lofty intentions, to date it has supported over 25,000 students. The scheme sponsors deserving students in Kenya, India and Pakistan.

ZCSS provides students from low income households’ financial assistance with tuition fees and other educational needs. The scheme currently caters for students in pre and primary schools, secondary schools and those who want to pursue further education in universities or colleges.

In order to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge in the poorest and most deprived areas,  The world Federation has built schools in areas such as Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh:
