Madinah & Bab 2019 - Participant and Mentors applications are now open!

The Madinah & Bab youth summer course is officially back for the 17th year running! If you have a son or daughter aged between 14- 24 and want to steer them towards an amazing opportunity for spiritual and educational development, then let them experience a trip of a lifetime through our Madinah & Bab short summer course in Iran! Apply here.

The course name derives from a hadith from the Prophet: "I am the city (Madinah) of knowledge and Ali is its gate (Bab)". The older students attend a Madinatul Ilm course (City of Knowledge) and the younger ones attend Babul Ilm course (Gate of knowledge). The trip name is shortened to Madinah and Bab in honour of this quote. 

Through insightful lectures, wholesome physical activities, and visits to holy sites, the course will ensure they gain Islamic Knowledge and enhance their spirituality while having lots of fun! The course is now open for applicationsIf you want your child to experience a trip of a lifetime which will have a positive spiritual effect on them, you must apply by Wednesday 30th May 2019.

The course will run from Thursday 25th July until Thursday 15th August 2019. Applicants must arrive in Iran no later than 25th July 2019. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the cities of Qum, Mashhad, Tehran and other historical places. The World Federation’s Islamic Education department is pleased to announce the reprint of the very popular title: 'Islam and Religious Pluralism'.

This book is based on a section of another book by Ayatullah Mutahhari entitled, ‘Adl-e Ilahi’ (Divine Justice) under the chapter ‘Good Deeds of Non-Muslims’. It has been translated by Sayyid Sulayman Ali Hasan, and also contains a preamble by Sayyid Mohamed Rizvi who provides a comprehensive view on religious pluralism in the modern context.

Sunnat or Innovation?

The books of Islamic laws and traditions of both Shias and Ahle Sunnat mention innumerable recommended prayers. Some of the prayers exceed a thousand units. The prayer of Tarawih is among the recommended prayers of the Ahle Sunnat and it is performed in congregation in the nights of Ramazan at an estimated twenty units daily.
