In Iraq, 400 families including orphans, widows and those living in local slums will receive a food basket.
The Madressa Centre of Excellence regularly holds teacher training programs globally and these programs help ensure that the teachers who will be educating the children of our community are trained to the highest level.
The most recent was held in Barsha in Dubai from 6th – 8th and 16th October. 26 participants took part facilitated by Sayed Aliraza Naqvi. Over these three days, many different topics were covered, including the importance of communication, how to encourage and motivate students and understanding things from a student’s perspective.
Each participant is required to fill in a feedback form at the end of the three days. This is to ensure the sessions are constantly being improved and adjusted according to the participants’ responses. This session received very positive feedback as did the facilitator himself.
‘I personally believe this module is extremely helpful in order to create confidence in every individual teacher to reflect their way of teaching, realize where they went wrong, admit it and then change for better.’
‘The activities and visuals helped in driving home important learning points. Video was excellent in effecting our perceptions and changing our behaviour towards students but all the people that surround us on a daily basis.’
‘Very inspirational and active as a facilitator- open minded attitude and constant guidance given was very encouraging and enabled me to open up and share more.’
‘An overdue step in the right direction. It will definitely help to raise the bar in the quality of teachers and teaching styles at madrasah.’
The Madressa Centre of Excellence will inshAllah be running these sessions regularly for all madressa teachers.
