The World Federation of KSIMC

Dr Asgharali Moledina recently had the opportunity to visit Bangalore, Sangli and Pune during the month of September 2014. On his trip to Pune and SANGLI He was kindly accompanied by ALI SHROFF (SEC GEN OF MUMBAI JAMAAT), SALIMBHAI VIRANI (PP OF AND TRUSTEE OF PUNE JAMAAT AND  Alhaj Gulamali Virjee, who took time out from their busy schedule, which added value to this visit.  ON THE BANGALORE SECTOR the delegation was joined by AlHaj Aunalibhai Salemohamed, Councillor from KUTCH FEDERATION.

Pune & Sangli Visit by the Delegation:

The delegation had the opportunity to meet members of the Pune Jamaat and also visited their new centre project which unfortunately has stalled for the last 6 years and the community social workers are working on getting this finished ASAP. There are positive signs that this will soon recommence. From Pune the delegation proceeded to Sangli where they were met by JAMAAT leaders. After maghribayn prayers the delegation met with community members who number about 120 families. The delegation spend the night in SANGLI and  the next morning they visited The Super English medium school which is run by the community and is the pride of SANGLI. The school has been running for almost 20 years now and has maintained excellent academic results for the past seven years. The students are pursuing their higher education in different fields and coming out with flying colours to shoulder the responsibility of the society and the nation. The school is at present thinking of expansion on the land adjacent to the school and will be sending a project proposal in due course for The World Federation’s consideration.

Bangalore Visit by the Delegation:

Dr Moledina had the opportunity to engage with the new Bangalore Jamaat representatives and discuss concerns faced by the community members during his visit from 27 to 28 September 2014.

The deliberations that took place during this visit have been listed as follows:

1. Madressa Centre of Excellence: The need to establish an English medium madressa to impart Islamic knowledge and educate children of all ages. This facility would be vital to the growth of the community for which a rented building to hold weekly classed would be required in addition to study material to cover the syllabus.

2. Community Upliftment Programme:  The small business community members are struggling to expand their businesses due to financial constraints for which a strategic plan on how to uplift such businesses would need to be looked at for long term sustainability.

3. Medical Facilities: In the area of Anepalya and Neelsandra over 6,000 mo’meneens  reside in very poor conditions where no proper sanitation and sewer facilities are in place. Their residences get flooded during rainy seasons creating health hazards for those living in the area. Financial restraints being one of their major difficulties, good medical care is not easily attained.  A pro bono medical clinic in the area with good doctors and prescription facilities would enhance the living standards of the community. In addition to general practice services, gynaecology and paediatric services are areas to be explored for the welfare of the women and children within the region.

Dr Moledina has assured The World Federation’s support and assistance in areas of need within the community.
