Qur’anic verses and historical documents reveal that the land of Fadak situated near the Fort of Khaibar, formerly belonging to the Jews, was the personal property of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h). It was neither a government property owned by the treasury nor was it war booty. The seventh verse of Surah Hashr, explains the point in detail:
The Curriculum Development team of the Madrasah Centre of Excellence (MCE) has recently released the Draft Curriculum Framework for Madrasah which was produced after a lengthy process of consensus and consultation with religious scholars, educationalists and madrasah teachers. A detailed review of the major curricula currently used by madaris globally was also carried out. A copy of the Framework document is being sent to teachers in each Madrasah in every region.
The next step is to hold consultation sessions in each region with representatives from Madaris in that region. The purpose of the consultation, which will be facilitated by the Curriculum Development (CD) team, will be threefold:
• To discuss the framework in detail and deal with any queries
• To obtain in-depth feedback from the attendees
• To agree the next steps
The first consultation took place at the Iranian Club in Dubai on 31st January 2014. 40 participants from 4 madaris (Satwa, Barsha, Qusais and Muscat) attended the full-day programme. There was brilliant input from the participants, 70% of whom were ladies. The quality of discussion was at a high level and it was in the true spirit of ‘consultation’. The feedback obtained at the consultation workshop will be very useful when preparing the final version of the curriculum framework.

The CD team also held informal sessions with representatives from senior citizens, past and present leaders, committee members, trustees, madrasah students and youths.
Members of the CD team were Maulana Syed Muhammad Rizvi, Shaykh Safder Jaffer, brother Aly Nasser and Al-Haj Naushad Mehrali. For further details about the curriculum framework, please email [email protected]
