An Eid message from the President of The World Federation, Al-Haj Anwarali Dharamsi.

In the Name of Allah (swt), the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful,

Salamun alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

Once again Allah (swt), in His infinite mercy, has blessed us with the joyous occasion of Eid Al-Adha, which celebrates the festival of sacrifice and Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son, Prophet Isma'il (as) on the plains of Makkah almost 4000 years ago.

I want to congratulate the thousands of people from our community who, Alhamdulillah, have joined two million Hujjaj from all over the world to complete their Hajj pilgrimage.

On the sacred Day of Arafat, the pilgrims gather at the mountain plain of Arafat, praying and supplicating to their Lord. On this day, Allah (swt) perfected His religion, completed His favours upon His beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and approved Islam as a way of life.

Over the next two days, it is highly recommended to recite the Talbiya of Hajj:

Translation: “Here I am, O Allah (in response to Your call), here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise, grace and all sovereignty are Yours – You have no partner”.

The true significance of Eid Al-Adha is a willingness to make sacrifices in our lives in obedience to Allah (swt) so we can better ourselves. Each one of us should reflect on how we can make even the smallest sacrifices to get closer to Allah (swt), whether it is to dedicate more time to pray, share our wealth with the deserving or to help people in our community.

Personally, I am planning a trip to the UK to visit centres after Muharam, so I can meet more community members and discuss how we can develop The World Federation even further. I recently came back from a wonderful trip to the US, where I spent time in our Orlando centre and learnt about new developments taking place and how they come together as a local community.

Eid al-Adha is also a time of forgiveness, and - during these last few moments of the Day of Arafat - we should take this opportunity to forgive our loved ones for any wrongdoing and also seek forgiveness ourselves, so we can come together with families and friends to enjoy the blessings of Eid.

Please continue to pray for The World Federation and its members, and for the safe completion of Hajj and return of all Hujjaj back to the safety of their home and families.

On behalf of everyone at The World Federation, I wish you and your family a very warm and blessed Eid Mubarak.

With Salaam and Duas,

Al-Haj Anwarali Dharamsi
President, The World Federation of KSIMC
