Quran Recitation in Qom and Mashhad

The holy month of Ramadan is being observed reverently in the holy cities of Mashhad and Qom at Iran.

Special sittings of recitation of holy Qur’an (everyday one Juz) are held day and night in the holy compounds of the sacred shrines of Hazrat Imam Raza (a.s.) and Hazrat Fatimah Masuma (s.a.).

One of the officials at Shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.) said that main objective of Ramadan program is explanation of Quranic lifestyle in the country. He added that we intend to organize biggest Qur’anic program (throughout the country) of Islamic world in addition to holy Shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.)

He by stating that Ramadhan programs are based on Quranic lifestyle with approach of familiarity with Quran, said "Focus of Cultural propagative programs of Imam Reza Shrine (as) is familiarity and contemplation in Quran".

Hujjat al islam Husseini noted that explanation of Islamic teachings, self-purification, introduction to Nahjol Balagha and Sahifa-e-Sajjadia is considered from other basic approaches in the holy month of Ramadhan.

Quran Recitation at the Shrine of Hazrat Masumah (s.a.) starts after the lecture of Ayatollah Nasir Makrim Shirazi. Before the recitation ceremony starts, the highlight of the interpretation of the specific chapter to be recited is presented for ten minutes.

One of the participant commented that “These sessions are really fascinating. We are spiritually charged. It has multiple benefits. We get to recite proper Qur’an with great famous Qaris and that too in the haram”
