WF India Office holds Khums Workshop

The World Federation's India Office organised two workshops on Khums Awareness and Understanding, in partnership with KSIJ Mumbai, India Federation and Servants of Imam Ali (a.s) group.

The workshop facilitators were Maulana Sayyid Zaki Hasan Noori, a renowned Aalim from Mumbai and teacher at Hawza Ameerul Momineen (a.s.), and Brother Irfan Karim, a Chartered Accountant by profession and CFO of an IT analytics company in Mumbai - he also created the content for both workshops. 

This interactive workshop covered the following topics:

1. Understanding Khums & it's importance in light of Quran & Hadith

2. Applicability of Khums in today's scenario

3. Understanding concept of income & expenditure

4. Discussion on common practical modern challenges

5. Distribution of Khums

6. Practical Exercises

The first workshop was held on the 3rd June 2017 at Mehfil e Mustafa, Juhu Kapaswadi, Mumbai and was attended by 30 participants and the second was held on the 10th of June 2017 at Imambargah Hall, KSIJ Masjid, Dongri, which was attended by 25 participants.

The workshops, which were free to attend via prior registrations, lasted 4 hours and were overseen by Sayyid. There was a lot of positive feedback from the participants, which you can read below:
