‘The Spiritual Walk’ is a documentary by The World Federation that follows the 3-day walk from Najaf to Kerbala in the shoes of three British Muslims: Abbas Ramji, Farhana Manekia and Sohail Kanji.
The World Federation’s India Office partners with Khoja Shia Isna Ashari Jamaat Mumbai to announce IQRA: The vacation Competition.
The competition is being organised keeping in mind the Summer Vacation to make the participants make best use of their free time. The competition is open for boys of Mumbai City and is divided into three age groups: 6 to 10, 11 to 16 and 17 to 25. This competition aims to cover 300+ students from all over Mumbai.
The basic criteria is the recitation as per the proper Arabic Makhraj and Lehen.
Tests will be conducted in the last week of May 2014 at the 7 major centres i.e. Dongri, Bandra, Andheri, Mumbra, Mira Road, Vasai and Kurla.
Top 3 winners from Mumbai will be sent for Ziarat to Mashad and Qum. Winners from each centre will get a chance to recite on Channel WIN and will also be awarded cash prizes.
The competition is a self-study model wherein CDs and Books with Surahs, Duas and Ziarats will be provided and depending on the age group the participant needs to select his preferred module. Support lectures will be provided once a week and participants will get a chance to brush up their skills with qualified Qaris.
Asad Virani, manager of The World Federation India Office, says: “The curriculum is very extensive but at the same time the rules are very simple and the participant needs to choose the module that’s most preferred by him.
