Dear Community members,

Salaamun Alaykum

On the death anniversary of our 6th Holy Imam, Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (as), we send our condolences to the Imam of our time (ajfs) and the worldwide Muslim Ummah.

This week, we confirmed our next Executive Council meeting which will be held in Toronto, Canada on Saturday 10 October 2015, inshAllah.  It has been a while since we last held a meeting in North America and we are very much looking forward to reuniting with the community there and sharing views on the direction of our organisation.

As a global community organisation, The World Federation benefits greatly from dialogues held with community members all around the world.  Brother Naushad Mehrali (Head of Madressa Centre of Excellence) recently visited Kutch and Gujarat in India during Shahr Ramadhan where he held a number of teacher training and personal development workshops. During these sessions, he received positive and useful feedback these programs.

This week also sees the last few days of our annual Madinah & Bab courses for youth ages 14 to 24.  The daily diaries for both the boys  and the girls have been inspiring to read.  For many, their first ziyarat to Sayyeda Masuma (sa) and Imam Reza (as) will be one that will stay with them forever.  On Thursday last week, we heard the sad news of the death of Shaykh Ali Azhar Arastu in Qum.  He was actively involved in the Madinah and Bab courses for a number of years and the boys had visited him only two days before he passed away.  We ask you all to please remember him in your prayers.

In other developments, we are pleased to announce that the Zainabiya Breast Cancer Screening and Diagnostic Centres in Mianwali, Pakistan will be self-supporting by 2016, inshAllah. The World Federation has been supporting this initiative for a number of years with the long-term view that projects like this one can become self-sufficient.  Alhamdullilah, this is the way we are moving as an organisation and it is extremely pleasing to see this close to completion.

Finally, if you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me at secretariat@world-federation.org. As a community organisation, The World Federation aims to work for the benefit of others and your feedback is important to us.

With salaams and duas,

Dr Asgar Moledina
