Reports on Karachi & Hyderabad events of Youth Network

The newly established Youth Network of Federation of Khoja Isna Asheri Jamaats of Pakistan conducted two successful sessions for youth in Karachi and Hyderabad. These sessions, widely requested by the youth, were part of the inaugural series to activate the platform built to connect Khoja youth all over Pakistan and plan activities that can result in their upliftment.

In Karachi, a session on Personal Branding and Communication Skills was conducted on 15th of April 2018 at the Fatimiyah Education Network Auditorium. Hasnain Badami, the facilitator of the workshop, is the Managing Director of Ingenium and Director of EdLab Pakistan. Over 60 plus youth from Karachi and Hyderabad Jamaats attended the two-hour session guiding youth on how to brand their personality. The session featured equal participation from both genders and is requested to be reconducted again in future as many participants were unable to attend due to space constraints.

On 29th of April 2018, inaugural session of Hyderabad Chapter of Youth Network was conducted at Mehfil e Hussaini (Hyderabad Jamaat). The session was attended by over 40 Khoja youths, both male and female, from Hyderabad and Badin. Samad Lalji, a young and energetic public speaker initiated the session with activities that were enjoyed by youth and representatives of the Jamaats equally. The session was followed by Hussain Lilani, representative of Hyderabad Jamaat in the Youth Network, sharing the need and objective of the nationwide network of Khoja Youth.

Later in the session, Mehdi KaramAli, representative of Karachi Jamaat in the Youth Network, facilitated an hour session inquiring youth about the history of Khoja identity followed by a  discussion on the long term and short term expectations of the youth from their Jamaats and how youth activation is instrumental in growth of Khoja community.

Both the sessions were also attended by representatives of Karachi, Hyderabad and Badin Jamaats along with the members of Pakistan Federation of Khoja Shia Isna Asheri Jamaats. Youth Network also plans to introduce more of such sessions on soft-skills in the future.
