Najaf to Karbala Walk - Arba'een 2013/1435

Are you going to Iraq for Arba’een this year?
If so, why not help fundraise for the poor and needy at the same time and/or volunteer at a mawkib  (out-post)?

Fundraising for the poor and needy
Imam Husayn (as) has said ‘Beware that the need of people to you is among the blessings of God to you. So do not scare away the needy people when they come to you, as God’s blessings will return and go elsewhere.' (Bihar al-Anwar, volume 78)

This year The World Federation has teamed up with the Najaf to Karbala (N2K) Walk team to fundraise for a community upliftment project in Kenya. This project will provide the Wajir and Garissa regions much needed access to water wells and seed support for farming in order to sustain the community living there in extreme poverty and drought.

We would love to have you as part of The World Federation team! We have included details on the project and how you can set up your own fundraising page.

Volunteering at our mawkib
This year, The World Federation is pleased to announce that it has established an out-post (known in Arabic as a ‘mawkib’) on the Najaf to Karbala walk route. The out-post will be located at position number 1086.

The mawkib will inshallah offer the following services:

• Rest and recuperation
• Overnight sleeping facilities
• Food and drink
• Medical facilities

Volunteers Required
If you wish to partake in the honour of serving the guests of Imam Husayn (as), The World Federation would like to offer you the opportunity, to come and volunteer your services at the mawkib.

This is an excellent chance to earn immense thawab, whilst partaking in an unforgettable experience. In particular, The World Federation appeals to individuals who are trained in medical fields to assist with their services.

For more information or if you have any questions, please contact us  at [email protected] or via telephone at +44 (0) 208 954 9881

We really hope that you will join The World Federation team to help by fundraising and/or volunteering and would be delighted to hear and share your stories, so please keep us updated!

Already, too few dams exist to contain rainwater and millions of gallons flow out to sea each year. In 2010 and 2011 alone, it was reported that nearly 18 million gallons of water streamed out to sea. Today, millions of Pakistanis have no access to clean drinking water and farmers don’t have enough irrigation water to grow good crops.
