Meeting of World Federation Office Bearers & India Federation on Tuesday 3rd January 2019

During the first week of the new year, The World Federation President, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi accompanied by the Secretary General, Alhaj Shan E Abbas Hassam and The World Federation Executive Councillor and Vice Chairman of Africa Federation meets the India Federation officials on Thursday, 3rd January 2019 at Taj Lands End in Bandra in Mumbai.

 

The meeting covered several areas of mutual cooperation and the modus operandi of some joint projects on important areas such as Madressah Centre of Excellence (MCE), new incentives to focus toward inward investments, joint initiatives on the Education Sector, Economic, Health, and Housing Developments. Both institutions saw communications as a vital element of enlightenment and to reach out to the grassroots to understand the needs and the challenges we face in our present environment.

 

Below is a complete list of topics which was discussed during the meeting:

1. Preserving the history and heritage of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Community

2. Walk-the-Talk stepping out of the box initiatives to bring about renewed impetus towards the development of our community in India, the motto should be to serve for the future of our growing community

3. Madressah  Centre of Excellence

4. Mimbar Guidelines

5. Strengthening Spirituality 

6. Interfaith & Intrafaith Relationships 

7. Youth & Leadership Development

8. Focus on the Secondary & Higher Education

9. Economic Development

10. Primary Healthcare & Health Insurance Schemes for families.

11. Housing Development Schemes

12. Strengthening Communications

 

The emphasis during the meeting was strongly made in relations to strengthening and building bridges of cooperation and relationships with other communities and faiths through regular inter and interfaith programs and visits. Alibhai Akber Shroff’s mentioned he will add considerable efforts to strengthen the India Federation continue to work tirelessly towards poverty eradication which needs huge efforts and cooperation from all member Jamaats of India Federation.

 

He reiterated working closely with The World Federation Secretariat to enhance the existing working relationship and communications.

 

In the closing message by The World Federation President, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi stressed the importance of building a strong, well educated, spiritually motivated and economically strong Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Community. He underlined that India is the second largest Regional Federation member of The World Federation after Pakistan, and has a crucial role to play in the development of our wider community globally and therefore must actively participate in joint efforts of the development, being a resourceful Regional Member. Alhaj Anwar Bhai thanked the India Federation for a warm welcome and a productive meeting and he underlined the importance of having these regular meetings and the exchanging of views and information between The World Federation and its Regions.

 He also thanked the Africa Federation Vice Chairman and The World Federation Executive Councillor, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan to accompany him out of his busy schedule.
