India's First-Ever Training Session with the MCE

The Madrasah Centre of Excellence hosts a variety of training sessions tailored specifically for teachers throughout the year across the globe.

This February the MCE team in partnership with the India Federation went to India for the first time and held the teacher training programmes for the Madarash teachers. TSP was conducted by Sayed Ali Naqvi.

The training took place over two weekends in Bhavnagar and Mumbai during 9/10 and 16/17 February respectively.

The teachers were taught how to adopt new methods of teaching with their students and how to encourage children to think outside the box. 

There was a strong push for teachers to demonstrate the importance of having a two-way communication between the teachers and students. 

The MCE team also discussed the responsibilities teachers have with their students and being able to understand their individual needs. 

Another part of the training sessions was to focus on key planning skills. How having items prepared beforehand will help the run of a smooth lesson. 

Once the new skills were taught the MCE team decided to put the teachers to the test by having a Micro Teaching session hosted by Shehnaaz Somji  (Mumbai) and Shehnaaz Pirmohammed (Bhavnagar). This is where the teacher will teach the other teachers in the new methods described allowing everyone a chance to give feedback and asses themselves.

We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who attended including the India Federation who have helped us achieve this goal esp Brother Ali Shroff. Our next plans with India Federation is to run a 5 year training programme to commence all over India, Insh' Allah. Our next TSP and MT will take place in June 2019.
