Introduction to Hadith – 10 days course successfully completed in Bhavnagar, India
The Islamic Education Department of the World Federation of KSIMC and WF India office organised a course on Hadith in the Holy month of Ramadhan at Bhavnagar.
Spread over 10 days with 1.5 hours daily, the course was conducted between 24th June to 4th July 2015 and was facilitated by Mrs Shahedah Rajani and Shaykh Kumail Rajani, Head of Islamic Education Department of The World Federation of KSIMC.

The course aimed to cover:
- The definition of hadith and sunnat. The importance of hadith.
- Historical background of hadith. The message of Thaqalayn.
- Major hadith centers: Madina, Kufa, Qum and Baghdad.
- The 400 Shia Hadith books
- The 4 Shia canonical books
- Intro to Nahjul balagah
- Intro to Sahifa al sajjadiyah
- Intro to Bihar Al anwar, Wasail al Shia and Al-Wafi
- Tafsir based on hadith
- Orientalism and hadith
- Dirayat, Rijal, Fiqh Al hadith
The course was attended by 20 sisters most corners of Bhavnagar including the likes of Amba Chowk, Dilher Baug and Shishu Vihar. There are more requests coming in for those who could not attend due to the size of the space restriction.

The fees collected from the participants will go to WF Ramadhan Relief Fund as a small share towards helping the needy in this blessed month.

“I am pleased that I got the opportunity to attend Shaykh Kumail's Hadith course in Bhavnagar. The topic was one that I did not have much knowledge of. I liked the way in which Shaykh Kumail developed the subject in a logical manner starting from the basic concepts through to historical background of Hadith, types of narrators, centres of Shia Hadith etc. We also got a thorough insight of Usool e Kafi and three other Shia books. The sessions were interactive and the homework was challenging. May Allah (swt) give him Taufeeq to continue the good work. Sh Kumayl Rajani: It was a unique kind of experience to conduct a course on ‘Introduction to Hadith’ in Bhavnagar compared to what I teach in Jamiat al Zahra (sa). I commend the enthusiasm and dedication towards such classes from the participants.

The Curriculum Development Team of the Madrasah Centre of Excellence (MCE) is progressing well with preparing lessons for its Tarbiyah curriculum. The lessons, which are being developed by a team of experienced madrasah teachers and a graphic artist, undergo a rigorous process of vetting.
