On the occasion of Arba’een, on 30th Oct 2018, a delegation of India Federation while on Ziyarat of Lady Zaynab (sa) and Lady Sakina (sa) visited The World Federation of KSIMC's Damascus Office in Syria. The delegation included Alhaj Suhel Bhurani (President of India Federation), Abbasali Virani, Shabbir Panjwani, Asif Merchant, Barkatali Unia, Parvez Mukadam, Shahid Jemani and Asad Virani (Manager of WF India office).
The delegation had a meeting with the manager of Damascus office, Shaykh Qassim Asadi who gave a brief on the extensive work being carried out by WF in Sayyeda Zainab area and refugee camp areas like Khirba. The Damascus office runs soft skill development classes for ladies and educational programs for the children.
The WF India Office, India Federation and Mumbai KSI Jamaat had jointly raised funds for Syria relief which was distributed to the Shia widows and orphans by way of food baskets at the WF Hussainiyah in Sayyeda Zainab area.
A skit was enacted by the children representing Lady Zaynab (sa) and Lady Sakina (sa)'s situation in Shaam by the treacherous Yazid and his army. The children also recited nauhas and marsiya as a part of the program.
The orphans and widows were delighted to receive the food baskets and prayed for the well-being of the silent donors and volunteers to have made the food baskets possible for them.
“We extend a big thank you to WF India office, India Federation and Mumbai KSI Jamaat to have organised this fund raising to support the ill-fated people of the war torn country and pray that Allah’s blessings be upon all of you in abundance always, Ameen.”
