On 21 July 2015, heavy monsoon rains resulted in extreme flash floods across various Provinces and regions in Pakistan. The downpour caused rivers to overflow to the point where entire villages were submerged in water leaving thousands of people homeless.

According to the United Nations, Iraq is struggling with one of the largest internally displaced populations in the world - an estimated 1.8 million people - because of the extremist insurgent group known as ISIS (Da’esh). The UN has declared this humanitarian crisis as a ‘level three emergency’ – the highest possible emergency level. Watch ‘The Displaced’ – a documentary by The World Federation of KSIMC – to learn more about the situation. On Friday 8 November 2013, one of the most powerful storms on record struck the coast provinces of Leyte and Samar in the Philippines.
