The World Wildlife Fund reported that by 2025, Pakistan will be on the brink of a major water shortage, with 33 percent less water than it needs. Already, too few dams exist to contain rainwater and millions of gallons flow out to sea each year. In 2010 and 2011 alone, it was reported that nearly 18 million gallons of water streamed out to sea. Today, millions of Pakistanis have no access to clean drinking water and farmers don’t have enough irrigation water to grow good crops.

Children helping Children Campaign – share your ideas!
This Ramadhan, The World Federation is once again inviting children and youth from around the world to join our 4th Annual Children Helping Children Campaign to raise awareness and donations for the Ramadhan Relief Fund. This year, proceeds raised from the Children Helping Children Campaign will fund nutritious meals, clothing and other necessities for thousands of Iraqi kids (including orphans). Every child and youth has the power to make a difference and bring back the smiles on the faces of children in Iraq.
This year, The World Federation has teamed up with Buzz Ideazz to share innovative ideas to fundraise with children (from making things such as bracelets and selling them, to asking family and friends to donate your birthday money to a good cause, there are lots of ideas to get involved!).
Buzz Ideazz is an educational enterprise set up to inspire children with a deep and practical love of Islam from a young age, through a range of unique and contemporary products as well as a sharing of ideas.
The founder of Buzz Ideazz, Sister Shaheen Merali from Stanmore, London says:
We hear so many tales of how, as children grow and become more independent, there are countless different directions in which they are pulled, most of them not necessarily good. So what can we as parents do, to try and keep our kids on the path that we would like them to stay on?
If we make that path an intrinsic part of them, such that it would be so ingrained that ever if they were to sway here or there they would ultimately turn back, wouldn’t that be great? And it is for this purpose – to instil the love of Islam into every single cell of theirs by making every part of it, be it Eid or a Thursday evening, something to look forward to and enjoy – that Buzz was born, both the products and this forum here to encourage the sharing of ideas.
