50 NEW LAVATORIES
Thanks to the support of donors who continue to donate to the Ali Asghar Water Appeal, The World Federation funded the construction of 50 lavatories across various villages in Tehsil Kallurkot in District Bhakkar in Pakistan’s Punjab province. All 50 lavatories were completed in March 2015. The Ali Asghar Water Appeal provides families living in developing countries with easy access to clean water and adequate sanitation facilities.
Our partner in Pakistan who managed the construction described this region as being “mostly deprived and poverty-stricken where people have no choice but to face embarrassment of going to the toilet in the open. The children were suffering from different diseases due to the lack of reasonable sanitation facilities.”

200 families have benefited from the 50 new lavatories. Each lavatory consists of one toilet stall (4 ft. x 4 ft.) and one bath room (6 ft. x 4 ft.). The cost of building one lavatory was $360 USD / £235 GBP.
Beneficiary families living in Tehsil Kallurkot were grateful to The World Federation and to all of the donors who funded this project.
